About Statz Therapy

Meet Meena Statz, LCMHC

Hi, I’m Meena! I’m so excited that you found me.

I work with busy moms and professional women (ages 25-50) who are eager to address and treat anxiety, depression, OCD, and/or trauma. My main areas of interest are the effects of the immigrant experience and biculturalism on mental health and wellness, as well as the everyday demands of being a woman in today's fast paced world. I also am well versed in queer, transgender, and non-binary needs in treatment. My clients are looking for results in therapy and oftentimes utilize my EMDR 90 minute intensive sessions to assist them with making progress they are happy with.

As a therapist, my goal is to break barriers in mental health treatment and improve outcomes for people who may have felt misunderstood or uncomfortable in expressing their mental health needs.

As a woman of color, I offer a unique cultural lens through which I provide therapy. I am the child of Indian immigrants who came to the United States in the 1980s and I consider myself bicultural. I have enjoyed the privilege of working with people who are part of the Indian diaspora and actively participate in counseling and psychology advocacy groups such as the Asian American Psychological Association’s Division on South Asian Americans. As an online-based provider, I currently serve women living in North Carolina and Wisconsin.

FAQs

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, so I provide clients with something called a “Superbill” or “Statement for Insurance Reimbursement”. Clients pay me directly, and if they choose to, they can submit the superbill to their insurance for direct reimbursement. You should check with your insurance company to determine your out-of-network benefits and their claims filing process. Usually, you can call the number on the back of your card or look at the paperwork you received when signing up for your insurance plan. Most insurance companies have online portals for clients to submit paperwork to them easily.

I do not accept Medicaid clients at this time.

Can you see me in person?

I am currently only seeing clients virtually. I ask that all clients find a quiet and confidential space to have therapy in. I use Simple Practice with is an all in one system that schedules appointments and also sends you link for your sessions. You just need a laptop or a device with the updated Simple Practice Telehealth app.

What is your cancellation policy?

To ensure the highest level of care for all my clients, I kindly ask that you notify me via email at least 24 hours before your scheduled session if you need to cancel or reschedule. This advance notice allows me to better manage my schedule, attend important trainings, engage in continuing education groups, and respond to the needs of my clients in a timely manner.

If a cancellation or rescheduling request is made with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be responsible for the full cost of the session. I appreciate your understanding, as this policy helps me maintain the quality of care and support that you deserve.

Are you available to chat in between sessions?

I’m available by email or phone if you have a quick question, but I encourage all clients to ask for a session if they need to process or discuss something. This ensures that I can maintain your privacy.

What are your typical hours?

I see clients Tuesday-Thursday from 9:30am-3pm ET.

  • "I am a 24 year old women that started with Meena Statz because I needed to control anxiety. I now have realized that I not only have anxiety but other things such as PTSD. She has helped me realize that what I am feeling is normal and I was going once a week and was now recently able to transition to once every two weeks. This experience has made me talk about uncomfortable situations and events but she made me feel completely comfortable and is one of the best listeners. I will continue once every two weeks to be able to express my emotions. Meena has been very helpful with me and therapeutic talk has been a perfect coping mechanism for me.”
